Event Bookings and Cancellation Policy

When booking a paid event or training, Supporting Communities will issue your organisation an invoice for payment once your booking has been processed.

  • Organisations will be invoiced for training courses on confirmation of booking

  • Accredited programmes will be invoiced on confirmation of booking

    • Participants will not be registered with the awarding body until full payment for the course has been received

  • Conferences/webinars/good practice visits will be invoiced on confirmation of booking.

  • Payment terms are strictly 30 days from the date of invoice.

For online events, joining instructions will be sent out one to two working days before the event. We request that you not forward these on once you have received the joining instructions for a virtual event. Should you forward the instructions, and the recipient attends without paying for the event in advance, it is deemed they have accepted to pay for the event. Supporting Communities will send an invoice to them following attendance for the respective amount.

From time to time, Supporting Communities may have to change the event content, timing, speaker/facilitator/tutor, date and or the venue. If this happens, you will be informed as soon as possible.

Booking Confirmation

You will receive an email confirming your booking after you complete the online registration.

Booking Cancellations

We have cancellation notice periods depending on the type of event you plan to attend.  See our cancellation policy below for further information. Supporting Communities will accept no liability for any other associated costs, such as pre-booked accommodation or travel. We will not refund any additional expenses you may incur as a result of this cancellation.

Limitation of Liability

Supporting Communities accepts no responsibility for any potential losses incurred whilst attending an event.

Data Protection

Supporting Communities processes personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Data Protection Act. In making this booking, your contact details will be stored on our database. Supporting Communities will use your data to process your booking, administration and analysis according to our privacy policy.

Cancellations Policy

Supporting Communities' events are popular, and often we have reserve lists for our events. A timely cancellation enables us to reallocate the place to someone else.

If you cannot attend the event you have booked, we are happy to transfer your place to someone else within your organisation if you contact us before the event.

If you cannot attend the event and have not arranged to transfer your place to another person within your organisation, you must inform Supporting Communities to avoid being charged for non-attendance. Supporting Communities will also charge a fee for non-attendance if a named substitute does not attend the event.

Cancellation notice periods depend on the type of event you plan to attend:

If you cannot attend the training course and cannot transfer your place to another person within your organisation, you must inform Supporting Communities seven days before the start of the course; otherwise, you will be charged the full training course fee.

OCN Accredited Courses - Paid

If you cannot attend an accredited programme and cannot transfer your place to another person within your organisation, you must inform Supporting Communities 14 days before the start of the programme; otherwise, you will be charged the full programme fee.
